Briarwood Pool will be once again holding its annual Swim-a-Thon fundraiser on Friday, July 19th. This year the money raised will be used to purchase a defibrillator (AED) for the pool, a piece of equipment that could potentially save lives.
All Briarwood swimmers are invited to participate in this fun event by seeking out sponsors who can either pledge a specific amount or a fixed amount per lap. The event will begin at 6pm and once you have finished your laps, you are invited to stay and spend the evening around a bonfire with friends and lifeguards. Snacks, drinks and s’mores will be provided! Awards will also be presented for exceptional participation and results in the Swim-a-Thon.
Those who raise over $25 will be eligible to pitch a tent and stay at the pool for a sleepover! Breakfast will be provided the following morning until the event ends at 9am. Please note that children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult for the sleepover.
We can’t wait to see you all having a great time at the 2019 Swim-a-Thon! Don’t forget to bring your pledge sheets on the day of the event. To obtain the fundraising letter and pledge sheet, please see a lifeguard.
Rain date will be Saturday, July 20th.
Happy fundraising and challenge yourself to see how many laps you can do!
